I need to change the domain name of Exchange2000 after installation. My Win2000 domain for example is: z.company.com and I want the exchange domain to just be company.com. What do I need to do to make sure Internal and external works? my smtp registration is smtp.company.com!

On your recipient policy, you would need to add the new domain in and make your org responsible for it's mail delivery. For the outside world, you'd have to get yourself registered with the new domain name, and then get an MX record pointing to your mail host for delivery.

Thanks Brontosaurus

In the recipient policy is that a case of ammeding the smtp generated email suffix or do I need to add anything else?

The domain is registered and an mx record created, I just dont know what I have to change in the recipient policy...

Thanks

Yes, you can add it in as an additional domain. Once added, you can make it the Primary address if you want, so it will show as the "reply" when one of your users sends mail...other than that, and making your Org responsible, you should be fine.
