Exchange backup

Just curious if anyone has ever used Novastor's NovaBac for backing up Exchange server. I have a problem with this particular (older) version. For starters, it does not support open file backup so I have to kill the services and reboot prior to backing up. A pain but always worked in the past. However, now when I try to backup Exchange...I get a disk read error on the priv.edb file. I'm pretty sure the drive is good and I've verifed this by copy to from the directory using the same file and running the SCSI utilities. Can someone tell me if this could be a result of the .edb becoming too large for the software? It has increased to over 2Gig in size in the last few months. I can't find anything on the Novastor website on this but perhaps it's a problem with other software as well.
