Exchange and Windows 2000 SP4

I was wondering if anyone has had trouble running OS SP4 with an Exchange 2000 server?

I was told by MS support last year that SP4 should not be run with Exchange 2000 SP3 and the latest roll up, but I find that hard to believe.

The Exchange servers are the only ones that do not have SP4 on them and I would like to have all the servers the same.

I was told the same thing. The previous IS&T director threatened me with my job if I ran SP4 on the Exchange server. One of the first things I did when he left was to update that server.

Guess what? No effect.

I have read some horror stories, but my experience was that doing the update was a total non-event.

Been running SP4 wiht SP3 and rollups for a long time now (months if not over a year), no known issues.

Be careful with the latest rollup for W2K Security...I have heard of issues with that, but not Exchange related.

It just means my answers are from experience, not a book.

I'm running the same and it has been fine for similar amount of time as Lander. No problem.

Likewise, been on 2000 SP4 and exchange sp3+ for ages, no problems

We have made a conscious decision not to install the rollup on any servers until we can do it successfully in a test environment
