I'm using MS SBS 2000 which incorporates Exchange 5.5. When I start Exhange Administrator and try to connect to the server I get the message "A connection could not be made to the Microsoft Exchange Server Computer" DS_E_Communications_Problem.

Any help please

Doug

The account you have used to logon with does not have any access to the Exchange system. Either logon on using the Service Account or give the account you logon with Service Account status within Exchange.

Thank you - I'll try that. I thought that as I was logged in as Administrator then I would have had access to Exchange anyway?!!

Doug

No, Exchange is the nearest thing MS had to a secure system from an admin point of view given the fact that you have to explicitly give permission to accounts other than the account given service rights at install.
