Hey guys, I'm a real newbie on exchange (or any mail system). I have an old book on Exchange 5 and have been studying it for an interview. Can you tell me if there's much difference between 5 and 5.5 (this company runs 5.5)? The main things I need to know for this job on the Exchange side is managing distro lists, mailboxes and troubleshooting public folders and mailbox permissions. I'm praying I don't have to know anything about scheduling.

also, I've never installed exchange before but plan on running an install this weekend. Is it a pain, anything I should watch for ? I think I can get my hands on 5.5 and I have both an nt and a 2000 server at home.

Not sure about the installation....but the rest is so self explanatory u need not worry. But to me the principals of exchange havent changed since 5 to 2000 that i am currently using.

Hope this was of help to you!

Glen

It sure was, thanks for taking the time to post. I just didn't want to study ver. 5 and then get quizzed on ver 5.5 and be way off base.
