I have 3 5.5 sites within exchange and my new 2003 server is in one of thos site co-existing with 5.5

i would like to move all users mailboxes to this new server - i can move the mailboxes from the 5.5 server which is in the same site as my new 2003 server but come across problems when trying to move mailboxes accorss sites / administrative groups

am i trying to do the impossible?
if not how do you do it
if so whats the work around

Thanks
Mark

Exchange 5.5 doesn't have a site-to-site mailbox move process. So, you either have to do a 'manual' move between 5.5 sites (basically an export to PST, delete mailbox, recreate mailbox in correct site, import PST to new mailbox), or use some other method of migration to 2003.

thats what i thought with regards to 5.5 - any other suggestions i can use to get the 5.5 mailboxes directly onto the 2003 server/site

thanks

Well the obvious is to go straight from 5.5's PST export to the new 2003 mailbox. Obviously you need to create the 2003 mailbox new (plus DLs etc), so this isn't easily scalable beyond a few tens of users, but it is an option.
