OK, at the minute we're connecting to an ISP via ISDN and the exchange 5.5 server is getting the SMTP mail for a domain that's held by the same ISP. However we want to move to a different ISP for lower call costs. However this ISP won't provide an SMTP feed. Help! How can we continue to send/receive emails using our domain name? Needs to be uncomplicated as possible! Many thanks

First of all, the reason your new ISP blocks this port is to prevent spam servers.

For your case, if the new ISP is blocking port 25 (smtp), this pretty much means you cannot host a mail server. Without this smtp port opened to the public, no mail server out there will be able to reach your mail server for mail delivery.

There is a way to collect your emails with Exchange from a Pop Server, but you will need to use a 3rd party tool like Pop Beamer, thing is these progs don´t always work reliable.

Personally I have experimented with Pop Beamer and found it was working quite well, do a search on google or wherever to find download links and a manual how to set it up.

Basically it works in cooperation with the Internet Mail Connector, it collects the Emails from the server and then transmits them to the IMC which can then distribute the mails to the according accounts in Exchange.

Installation can be a bit tricky with massive amounts of email ads, but this tool did the job for me for the time I been using it.

Good Luck!
