Exchange 5.5 server upgraded to w2k.....join site

I've setup a test lab where i have a windows 2000 DC and Windows NT PDC SP6 with Exchange SP4.

The 2000 domain is company.com
NT domain is NTCompany.com

upgrading NT to w2k and joining as a child domain. How can i ensure proper move of the exchange server. When doing the upgrade i no longer have access to the exchange server.

first time doing this and running into some issues....researching but haven't found all the answers. Help would be appreciated.
