I have a NT Domain with a Win2k Server trying to install Exchange 5.5 on the 2k basic. Initial setup fails due to failure to start and stop Exchange Service Account. Ive Check the user account Fine, but the service will not start or stop from Win2k box.???? Thanks

Joe

have you apply service pack 4 on the exchange 5.5 ?

JoeFromNJ it sounds like you have the same network setup I do. I want to set up Outlook Web Access too but can't seem to find any technical information to get me started. Most of what I've read so far is not for a mixed environment.
Can you point me to the documentation you started with?
Thanks for your help.

just make sure your IIS is running, nothing really need to be configure
if you like, have your isp map a virtual domain name server to your ip that runs the exchange box

Hungster, Thanks for your quick response. It sounds too simple. I think I'd feel more secure with something to document each step. I have IIS 5 running on a W2k box and Exchange 5.5 on a NT4 box. One of my problems is that the W2K box is out side of the DMZ and the Exchange box is on the inside. What ports need to be open on the firewall to allow these two systems to see each other? What configurations or application changes do I need to make on my Exchange server?
Thanks

no problem, i mean the iis running on the box that runs exchange 5.5, cuz OWA uses the IIS for you to access for outside

if i were you, i would map only port 25, 110 and 80 for the exchange 5.5, next time try to use a cisco router, it is much easier to map port and very flexible

hope that helps
