Hi,
We have 2 Exchange 5.5 servers in 1 site.
1st server: NT4 SP6a, Exchange 5.5 SP4 and all post SP4 patches
This was the first server which until last Friday handled all smtp traffic
for 3 email domains.
It also hosts the public folders.
2nd server: W2K SP2, Exchange 5.5 SP4 and all post SP4 patches
Last Friday we removed 1 of the email domains from the Internet Mail Service
on the first server, restarted the Internet Mail Service, created an
Internet Mail Service on the 2nd server for this domain, started the service
and all worked fine.
About 6 hrs later we started getting the following errors in the evevntlog
of both server:
Source: MSExchangeDS
Category: LDAP Interface
Event ID: 1228
Description: Unable to open performance counters. An Attempt to map shared
memory returned error 8.
Memory and Processor load on both servers is stable and normal
Mail is still being send and received without problem
When trying to add or change mailboxes the 1st server displays an error
saying there is not enough space on the device. On the 2nd server this is
still possible.
When trying to connect to the eventlog of this 1st server, trying to open a
change mailbox on this 1st server you get the following pop-up error:
Unable to connect to the computer "Exchange" the error was: The
RPC server is too busy to complete this operation.
Anyone who knows what's happening here?
