In a search for suggestions to provide to my boss for options that are out there for training on the new Exchange are there any highly recommended solutions out there that provide not only a base understanding of the roles and kind of introduction to installing but an experience that digs deeper into customizing, setup, HA, DR, any or all of those topics.

There is a local New Horizons but I am not a huge fan of anything they do so I will not be recommending that without some huge change of heart :) Thanks for any advice.

I'd get the webcasts from the Microsoft.com site and a couple of the books. Once I'd worked out what I knew, needed to know and wanted to focus on I'd then book a course. They're all the same MOC courses so do one of those.

Really your training options are endless. Just do some self teaching and then decide at what point you want to dip into the training.

Yea I agree, beyond our lab environment I think our subscription to Safari and a few vids will be more then sufficient. Thanks for your opinion.

There are some REALLY good books out there.

Mastering Microsoft Exchange Server 2007 by Jim McBee is really good. Jim's written a boat load of books on day to day work with Exchange.

How To Cheat At Configuring Exchange Server 2007 by Henrick Walther is good.

Microsoft Exchange Server 2007: Tony Redmond's Guide to Successful Implementation by Tony Redmond. Tony's books are always considered the "Bible" of understanding the inner workings of Exchange.

All of those authors are Exchange MVPs.

The Complete Resource: Exchange Server 2007 by Richard Luckett will probably be very good. But that's only because I'm contributing to it. :)

Thanks for the links Pat, much appreciated. I watched the webinar yesterday that Jim put on for the Quest/Unisys online deal, between that and what I have found on the MS forums page he seems like a very knowledgeable person.

Thanks again!

Cory

Jim is an MVP just like Pat. Jim just does more speaking and writing than working!

Hey Dave, I am excited for your release of the trainsignal vids, I just saw that you were doing them as I have been waiting for these to come out for a while. Curious did you do all 20+ hours? Must have taken a long time..

Hope to use these as a training tool for my coworkers as I have heard great things about trainsignal :)

Cory

Actually, the videos run longer than 20 hours. Closer to 24, I think, and I've done all of them. They should be released in the next few weeks.
