I am about to start building my exchange 2007 box (hardware just arrived) and had a couple of questions.

I currently have a single windows 2000 Server running Exchange 2003. No front end server. This one server handles everything including owa/active sync etc.

1) What is the best way to set things up so users won't be disrupted on OWA/ActiveSync as I migrate mailboxes? Keep in mind I only want 1 server to run exchange 2007 when I am done.

2) My current server name is called "MAIL". I would like to keep this name on the new server if possible. I am thinking of naming the new box something like "mail2" and then name it "mail" after the original box is shut off. Will this cause problems in AD etc?

Any other advice would be appreciated. Thanks!

1) OWA needs configuring but should be ok at server move time - you may need to tell the firewall to point to new server on 443 not old one.
2) You can't. Yes it will. Short of installing a new 2003 server called mail2, migrating to that and then over again, it will be difficult. HOWEVER...migrate to Mail2007, remove the old mail server, shut it down and remove from domain then create an A record in DNS called mail and set its IP to the new server :)
