Hello,

I just set up an ISA 2004 server in my DMZ and configured it with an OWA Web Publilshing rule. I've set up SSL and Forms Based Authentication and it works fine. I get to my mailbox by putting in:

I remember in Exchange 2000, you had to set up a redirect for anyone putting in HTTP to really use HTTPS and also had to perform manual work to preven the user from also specifying the /exchange virtual servername and mailbox.

I just tried using (with /exchange/mailbox) and it isn't working. Is it safe to assume that more manual work needs to be done so that in the end, the user simply needs to type in:
Thanks

This looks great! Just wondering, I just follow these steps on my two OWA front end servers and don't touch the ISA server in the DMZ ?

Does this take care of not needing to put in the /exchange virtual server name as well?

question 1: yes
question 2: To redirect /exchange, u need to

1. Log onto the OWA server

2. Open the IIS Manager

3. Open the properties for the default web site

4. Under the Home Directory Tab, do the following

a) Choose redirection to a url
b) Type /exchange in the text box
c) Check the "directory under this one" radio button

5. Click "apply", "OK", and exit the IIS manager.

6. Test the changes by opening a web browser, and connecting to the folder. It should now take you directly to the Exchange Logon screen.

Ok, I set everything up on the two OWA front end boxes which sit on my internal network. Set up the redirect for the http/https as well the a /exchange in the home directory.

I tried it, and the ISA server is not allowing it by simply the (i.e owa.domain.com). Its coming up with an error message in IE stating something like "URL is not approved".

Have you set this up where ISA was in the DMZ with OWA Web publishing being used?
