Exchange 2000 uninstall Access Denied 1

Hi,

I am doing an uninstall of an old exchange 2000 server, which also happen to be our PDC. When I go to uninstall from the control panel | add/remove programs I select the remove action for Exchange 2000 and it pops up with the error:

Setup encountered an error while checking prerequisites for the components "Microsoft Exchange 2000":
0X0070005(5): Access Denied

I am totally baffled by this can't seem to find any information on it, any help would be greatly appreciated.

My guess would be the account you are using to uninstall doesnt have permissions to the exchange server object in the config container. Not to worry; you can remove it manually:
