Exchange 2000 Unable to recieve email

I have setup an Exchange 2000 SP 3 to replace our Exchange 5.5 server. We have an ADSL connection. I have setup the connector for Exchange 2000 as per the article in Microsoft documentation "XFOR: How to configuire the SMTP connector for Exchange 2000" and after that I am unable to recieve but I can Send out email. We do have a Netgear FV 318 Router. The IP address on the router for Exchange and IIS 5.0 is 192.168.0.3. Should I select the same IP address or leave it to obtain an IP address automatically. If I select an IP address 192.168.0.3 then I am unable to access the Internet. Do I need 2 Network card. Help Please.

use third party pop3 connector to fatch mail frrom your web server like E.F.S. it is small software

Did it work on the 5.5 server and how was it receiving mail?
If so, does the new 2000 server have a different IP?
Again, if so, either give it the same IP as the 5.5 had, or modify your router to forward port 25 to that internal IP.

The setup is exactly the same all I have to do is connect it properly I remember that I had everything working few weeks ago except I had some minor problem getting Windows 2000 pro connecting to the server because of the DNS issue now I have solved that problem & I am unable to recieve the email. What I am not sure about is where the domain name and the IP address has to be mentioned properly in Windows 2000 Server.

And what about the Static IP Address does it play any role in exchange setup.

Not for reception. As long as your MX record points to it, or the router or firewall has the mail forwarde to that address, you should get it.
Your router has a LAN address of 192.169.0.3, what is the servers address?

The address for the router is 192.168.0.1 and the address for the server is 192.168.0.3. The mail is pushed to the mail server we dont have to poll.

Thanks the Problem is solved. The IP address mentioned in the router must be used for exchange. Thanks you all.
