Guru's, is there anyway to make the exchange smtp connector go through a proxy??

Please someone.............?

It depends upon your proxy. I run Exchange2K behind ISA without a problem.

I'm having to run Wingate proxy software on a Windows 98 machine as we've got Satelite Broadband from BT on a USB connection. The Gilat satelite router will not work on a 2000 machine and therefore cannot be plugged direct into the server for use with ISA.

The IP address of the wingate proxy (10.0.0.200) is in the smtp connector and the exchange server seems to try and push it out but just cannot seem to get it through the proxy. No firewall or filters in place.

A proxy server needs to do more than share an internet connection. ISA has built in capabilities to publish a server that is behind it. At one time I was running NT4 with MSProxy 2.0 and I needed to run a little service called Surragate Socket to publish a server that was behind it. With out such a service running on your proxy you will need to set up a DMZ and put the Exchange server in it. That may not be an easy option depending upon the configuration of your exchange server. I would recommend looking into a different proxy solution.
