Our work network comprises of Win XP Pro workstations. every once in a while the list of proxy servers keeps disappearing from the exceptions list.
I've resorted to creating a list from a text file and users have to copy and paste it into the exceptions list.

Is there a way I can stop this from happening? maybe a batchfile that copies and pastes the exceptions list everytime the user logs on?

All your help will be greatly appreciated.

I suspect pilot error, or an attempt to circumvent the restrictions.

Launch the Group Policy Editor by entering Gpedit.msc in the Start menu's Run dialog. Navigate to the policy User Configuration\Administrative Templates\Windows Components\Internet Explorer\Internet Control Panel\Disable the Connections page. Right-click on this policy, click on Properties, and check the Enabled box. Now no one will be able to remove the proxy settings used to block all domains.

babalwan2000 please don't post your question to multiple forums. I've answered this very same post in proxy server discussion.

I suggested to use system policies to force the exception list upon every login. Bcastner has a very good point too in bloking the connection page.

Hope this helps. Please let know if this resolve your issue

Jeff, sorry, I did not see an earlier post.

babalwan2000, it is better for you, and anyone else searching for help, it all replies are kept in one thread.

Apologies about this thanks for your help. I'll try this and see how it goes.

Hi Guys

This is what I realised when I tried this:

the exception lists disappear when I go into ''Install mode''
Install Mode - this is when, a you click a button that grants any user in power users, temporary admin rights.

Even after I applied the group policy and when into administrative mode the exceptions list were erased.

Any idea's guys? thanks for your time once again.
