Exception error ----------------------VxD(13)

I am getting blue screen exception error 0028:00800025 in VxD- - - called from 0028:c024c5d5, Ihave tried formatting C drive (twice) i have upgraded win98 to win98se (twice) and still get the same error i have no software installed other than win98se i opened and closed int. explorer to cause the error...any easy to follow advice welcome

Methinks your problem is with the SIS 5597 / 5598. The SIS 5597/5598 adapter has a problem with windows 98. You need to download the file 5597v113.exe and simply path to it in your autoexec.bat Windows 98 WILL NOT handle this chip without this BIOS utility. You can get it at the following URL;

Put his file anywhere and simply add a line to autoexec.bat c:\anywhere\5597v113.exe

i will give it a whirl ive had a scan of the FAQ at the SIS site and it suggests to make a copy of the old BIOS before executing the TSR, how do i go about this?

Do not flash the BIOS! 5597v113.exe eliminates the need to flash the BIOS, which they have found to be too risky. The program does not alter the BIOS, therefore it needs to be there always.

up to now i hold you in the genius category, no errors yet going to load software back on today so i will keep you posted .....eveybody and there dog told me it was a memory thing! i hope they were wrong.
