Is there a way to change the default in Excel, under options, for calculations? Example: Under options in Excel,I want "Manual" checked off and "Recalculate Before Save" DEselected. I would like this to be my default.

The options you speak of are options that, when set, become specific to the workbook in which they are set.

This, I would suggest, is "preferable" - to have this setting "specific" to each workbook.

This way, one is able to set the calculation to "manual" for LARGE workbooks, and to set it to "automatic" for smaller workbooks.
