Excel xls files and CR 8.5

I am using Crystal Reports 8.5 and want to create a report using an Excel 8 xls table. I can't remember how to load the table into Crystal Reports (I know I have done it before in the past!). When I try "ODBC - Excel Files" it comes up with "no items found".

What might I be doing incorrectly??
 
After clicking Excel Files, you should be able to link to the disk where you excel sheet exist.
 
I remember having this problem. I think the solution was to go to options->database->check "Reprompt user when connecting". Make this change, and then if you see "No items found", close that level so you see the "+" sign next to Excel again, and then reopen it.
