Excel Table To MS Word in Landscape

I have a 17-column table in Excel which I want to import to Word, retaining the links for probable updates. When I import to Word, with the page set to landscape mode, it truncates the last few columns. Adjusting column width has no effect; we still lose the last few columns.

How can we shrink the table to fit into the capacity of a Word page? Or does Word only allow a limited number of columns per table?

Thanks for any help you can give.



 
Hi.

Right click the excel toolbar

select Customize...

select the Tools Menu

drag the Camera Icon on to your toolbar

select the table you want to copy to Word

select the Camera Icon

Insert a new sheet

drag a box onto your sheet (it's a "picture" of your table

copy the picture into Word.

CAVEAT: it's just a picture -- must be edited in Excel on the original sheet.

Margins are .3 left, .25 right. When we shrink the size of the table, we get a lot more white space but the final four columns don't show up on the right side, they've dissapeared.

Embedded Excel Worksheets have limitations on both the number of columns and the number of rows that can be displayed in Word. The number of columns seems to vary with column width, but the number of rows seems to be limited to about 70.

Also, you can change the number of rows & columns displayed by double-clicking on the embedded Excel object and draging the 'handles' in/out. Alternatively, you might be able to work around the column problem by narrowing them in Excel. You may need to change font sizes etc to suit, too, but you can then scale the whole embedded object back up to a more suitable size in Word.

Don't you just love integration!
