Greetings,

How can I programmically track changes in a workbook and also keep unauthorized users from editing it. It will be ok for them to view the workbook but not change it.

I would like to start with a template that is not tracked but once saved as a different name will be saved and changes tracked.

I have used the command "ProtectSharing". This works fine to protect and share the workbook. However, when I protect the sheet before activating the Sharing, I am prevented from unprotecting the sheet without disabling the Sharing.

I understand that the other passwords are disabled when using sharing. So I hope there is a work around.

One thing I thought may be possible is to create two workbooks. One for tracking/sharing and a dummy workbook that is not able to be editied but mirrors the editible workbook.

Anyone have other ideas?

Thanks
