Hi all,

I've created macros in Access that can be dragged onto the desktop (or other locations). Then without having access open the macro can be activated whereby it opens Access and performs the required task.

Can this be done in Excel also?

Thanks,
Owen

Hi,

In your workbook's Open_Workbook Event, run your macro.

Thanks Skip.

How do I see my workbooks open event? I've looked in the vb code of the workbook but don;t see it.

Thanks
Owen

Right click any sheet tab and select View Cose.

You will see in the Project Explorer, the Workbook Objects -- each worksheet and the ThisWorkbook Object.

Click the ThisWorkbook Object.

In the Code Window upper left click the Objects Dropdown and select Workbook.

In the upper-right, click the Procedures Dropdown and select the Open Event.

I'm doing as you say (I think) but cannot find the open event option.

I think it is going wrong at this point..."In the Code Window upper left click the Objects Dropdown and select Workbook." there is no "workbook" to select, but instead is a "worksheet" to select! when I select this there is no open event in the procedures dropdown.

Help.

skip - I got it.!!

Thanks very much!!
