Hi,

I've got two questions regarding an Excel file I have which has data on two sheets.

1) On sheet one, I have the company name as one of my columns. Can I set up sheet two in such a way that it has the same column, but the cells are uneditable and gets the info from the first sheet?

2) Also on sheet one, I have several columns to represent the address (ex: address, city, state, zip). Can I make a column on sheet two that is uneditable, and will compile all of this data into one cell?

Thanks for the help.

Cameron...

Sorry to spam you, Flix.

I should have said this in the first post:

What you're doing sounds UN-databaselike. Are you sure that's what you want to do? If you tell us your goal, we can perhaps provide a better way? Anne Troy

Hi Cameron,

Based on your data starting in A2,B2,C2,D2,E2, use these steps:

1) On Sheet2, enter this formula for the name...
=Sheet1!A2

2) On Sheet, enter this formula for the rest of the data...
=Sheet1!B2&" "&Sheet1!C2&" "&Sheet1!D2&" "&Sheet1!E2

3) On Sheet2, enable "Protection", by using (from the menu):
Tools - Protection - Protect Sheet (and of course don't forget the password). :)

Reminder: IF there are other cells on Sheet2 where you DO want to give access to the end-user, you will need to FIRST "un-lock" those cells - by using: Format - Cells - Protection, and un-check "Locked".

I hope this helps. Please advise as to how you make out.
