Excel Open File Problem 1

I am having a problem in excel browsing when opening a file. When I go to File->Open the window comes up fine and lists everything in My Documents at a normal speed. However, when I go to the bar at the top of the window, to browse to another drive, it will wait for about 10 minutes before giving me a choice of drives. I am running Office XP SP2 on windows XP sp1. Thank you.

Do you have a mapped drive that no longer exists on the network? I had a similar problem with windows looking for a folder on the network that wasn't there any longer.
