I have a user who created a copy of a worksheet, then deleted the original file.
Somehow there are links on the copy file referring to the original file that was deleted.
How do I sever these links. I cannot do Paste Special => Values Only as there are formulas on this worksheet.

If a spreadsheet that contains links to another is opened, it will prompt to "Update links". If you respond "yes", excel will attempt to re-establish these links. However as the linked file has been deleted in your case, you should respond "no" and therefore the file will open with the last updated data.

If the formulae trying to link to the missing file should in fact be referring to cells/sheets within the current file, then it's simply a matter of re-directing these formule to the relevant cells/sheets. I use the "find and replace" function to globally update in such circumstances.
"Honest dear. It was the dog!"
