Excel links in Word doc

I have several Excel links in a Word doc. Some 6 cols. x 5 rows, some much larger. All links are correct and update just fine. When I print the Word doc some of the Excel displays print fine and others print in unreadable garble. Does anyone have a reason why this might happen?
