Excel linking

I have an Excel speadsheet, includes Bus info on one tab, Books on the other, and Micellanous. Is it possible to link these sheets to a main document. So whenever i type an entry in the Bus worksheet, it will also appear in the Main document in another workbook. Thanks for your help, in advance.

In response to a "general" description, one can realistically only give you a "general" answer... "Yes".

One option is to play "Tek-Tips-Tag" - where information is relayed back and forth, until the exact requirements are understood and solutions provided. However, a better option would be for you to offer to email a copy of your spreadsheet. This will be a much more accurate method and therefore speed up the process considerably.

If you'd like to email me a copy, I'll likely be able to make recommendations, and hopefully also provide direct input into developing a working model.

If you happen to have sensitive data, replace it with fictitious data that still reflects the type of data you're working with. Also specify the objectives you want achieved.

You can set a query in another spreadsheet that looks at the information in the entry spreadsheet using "Get external Date/New database query" off the data option.

Or you can write the data to a database spreadsheet and this is explained in Step by Step Microsoft Excel 97 Visual basic book Lesson 2. (I don't think that there is a book for Excel 2000, but I have been using this for learning on 2000)
Careful that you dont name the list "database" as it says because it is an Excel protected name and stops the thing working
