excel if and else

I want to for the if and else in one cell, to look for other cell, like if(A1="C"," ",A1) then I want it to pop up a message, is there such thing in excel to do that?

Since this is not the VBA forum, I assume you are looking for a non-VBA solution. You can probably use Data/Validation... for what you want to do. Check it out.
