Excel hyperlinks have become corrupted

I have a workbook that lists the projects that I'm working on with hyperlinks that I can click to take me to related documents and images on my networked drives. It also includes a few web hyperlinks and email links. Recently, all the hyperlinks to networked drives have changed and become unusable.
For example:
\\nrdata\common$\office\LIP\notes\saltriver.doc
changed to
\\nrdata\common$\office\LIP\reports\notes\saltriver.doc

The reports directory that is listed as being above the notes directory is actually on the same level and shouldn't be part of the path. I can't figure out how or why that could have been changed for all my links. The notes folder has never been in the reports folder. The only way I can think of to change the links is to reset them manually for each link. The whole point of using the excel sheet was to allow me to keep things more organized and efficient so I'm hesitant to spend a lot of time fixing this if it's something that can happen again and again in the future.

Does anyone have any ideas how this could happen so I can avoid it in the future? Or does anyone know how to change all the hyperlinks at once to just remove the reports folder from the link?
