Excel Freeze Panes Problem Copying from one ss to another.

I have a fellow employee who has 2 huge spreadsheets. We both use Windows XP and Office XP. She has frozen panes on both spreadsheets so she can see what she is copying. She used window arrange, horizontal, so she could see both ss files. She can't move her cursor around in either file with the panes frozen. If she removes freeze panes then she can copy the data. I tried this on my computer and I could copy data with the panes frozen. What possible setting could my computer have that would let me copy the data with freeze panes on? I need to change her settings so she can copy the data with freeze panes turned on. Thank you.
