In column "A" I have the date, ie: 1-May, 2-May, etc.
In Column "B" I'd like the day, ie: Sunday, Monday, to match the date.

Can you help?

Sopman

no special format, but you can have a lookup list on the sheet and do a lookup for the WEEKDAY(A1).

If I wasn't Blue, I would just be a Dragon...

To expand, have an array that has:

1 Sunday
2 Monday
and so on

then in B2:

=VLOOKUP(WEEKDAY(A1),C1:D7,2,0)

You can simply have a reference to column A, e.g. =A1, copy it down, and format it as "dddd" ( menu command Format/Cells/Number/Custom )

Cheers, Glenn.

Did you hear about the literalist show-jumper? He broke his nose jumping against the clock.

Slap the back of my head Glenn, forgot about that...

Thanks Glenn, that works.

My pleasure.

Blue ... thought you'd have got that one, sounds like the old grey cells weren't up to full speed.

Cheers, Glenn.
