Ok i have one cell which is a regular number and one cell which is time format 00:00:00. Ok this is hurting my head! I need to divide my number by the time so if the number is calls it tells you how many calls are taken each hour.

Please help guys!

Regards all

ok - time is just a format. The underlying data is a decimal number

1 = 1 day
the decimal portion is the TIME of day so
1.5 = 1 day, 12 hours

So...if 1 day = 1 then 1 hour = 1/24
So, if you have say 100 in cell A1 and a time of 01:00:00 in B1 then
=A1/(B1*24)

will do the job

= Calls Cell/(time cell*24)
I seem to remeber that from when I worked in a call center that you have to multiply by hours in day, seems to work when I just tested it!!

Hi,

1) If you are dividing by SOMETHING related to TIME, it must be a DURATION of time NOT a single time value.

I'm not going to divide by 6 o'clock!

But I could divide by 6 days or 6 hours or 6 minutes or 6 seconds.

2) If there is NO DURATION, ie ZERO Days or ZERO Hours or ZERO Minutes or ZERO Seconds, then you CANNOT divide by ZERO.

=If(Duration=0,0,Calls/Duration)
