If anyone can assist me with this question I would greatly appreciate it. I am trying to create a program that will import data from an excel ss into an access db (already containing data). I want it to read each value in the spreadsheet, compare a few key values to see if the record exists in the db, if so and if all fields are equal, do nothing, if some fields different modify existing row, and if it is not there add it? Can this be done in access in any way? I was thinking I may have to create something within a vb app that handles this, any suggestions??
Thanks..

Consider a different approach. Link the Excel spreadsheet as a table in MS Access. Run DELETE, UPDATE and INSERT queries against the Access tables using the linked Excel spreadsheet as a table. Usually no coding is required - just SQL queries. Can be easily and quickly done. Terry
