In the same graph I would like to merge two different types of column charts: the clustered and the stacked columns. For the first three observations I would like the two series to be displayed as clustered columns but for the last observation I would like to show the two series with their sub-components using the stacked columns. Does anybody know if this is possible?

thanks

messsp,

This is a duplicate post of thread68-1161321.

Posting twice or the same question in multiple forums does not get an answer quicker and is frowned upon.

If you do not understand review site policies hers:

I had looked at your original post and could not determine any method of excecuting what you want in one chart in excel. Therefore no post. I and you were/are hoping that someone with more knowledge than myself might have a solution for you.

You would need to use a secondary axis and change the chart type for that axis

Rgds, Geoff

We could learn a lot from crayons. Some are sharp, some are pretty and some are dull. Some have weird names and all are different colours but they all live in the same box.

Please read FAQ222-2244 before you ask a question

Using a secondary axis will deal with the first few months, as this is just a column chart, but the last item needs to be a stacked side-by-side chart which is not an Excel chart type. Have a look at this:
and see if there's any way to adjust it to suit your needs.

Cheers, Glenn.
