Excel Gurus,
I have an interesting problem whereby a spreadsheet for expenses was created by someone who has since moved on.
What they managed to do was to lock a cell to only accept values between a date range.
I have tried and looked everywhere to find out how he has done this but to no avail. I have even deleted the row that the cell appears on and recreated it but still the validation exists. I have tried changing the "Format Cell" to be of type free text instead. The error returned is as follows:
"Invalid date entered. If you know the date to be correct check your regional settings are set to UK and short date format is set to dd/mm/yy".
I know the problem should not be related to regional settings as the spreadsheet will accept 22/03/05 (22nd March) but will deny 22/04/05 (as the latter date falls outside of the UK Financial Year).
Any help would be most appreciated.
Woody.
