Brad Hunter has created an animated 3-D pie chart that is worth looking at. It's an add-on for Excel and is in beta stages still. Please place your comments here and I will point Brad to the thread. Here is more from Brad:

I've just completed a new program called 3d Charts for Excel. I'm going to release the program on CNET and ZDNET in several weeks but I wanted to do a short beta test before hand. The beta is open to the entire public so anyone can participate. You may download 3d Charts through my web site at
or download directly at

The program is entirely free, non-profit, and created for fun as my hobby.

Notice: 3d Charts do not work in Windows 95. They require Windows NT/2000/XP or 98/ME. You must have Excel 7/2002/XP.

The program is incredibly advanced and probably has lots of bugs that have yet to be uncovered. I don't recommend adding a beta 3d Chart to your prizing winning workbook. Always save your work before using 3d Charts. 3d Charts are completely harmless and won't detrimentally hurt Excel; however, they might cause Excel to crash. You've been warned.

There is no help file yet. I'll be adding information about uninstalling, support email, known problems that can't be fixed, and feature functionality before final release.

Cool thing about 3d Charts: They don't clutter up your Visual Basic workspace because they don't use macros or workbooks.

Thanks,
Bradford Hunter

I checked this out.
Pretty neat, lot's of little hangs. The biggest issue I have with it is...What use is a rotating 3D Pie chart?
What insight does this give management?
Maybe a moving bar graph to show trending (w/step thru or animate options) that way you could fit a lot more on 1 graph and it would be neat just to see the bar move up and down (management likes shiny things and buzz noises)

So like I said, it's neat but I don't see any true value for displaying the data this way.
