Excel 97 Breaks down after about 3 weeks 3

About every three weeks Excel 97 suddenly stops working and we have to re-install it to get it to work properly. It only happens on Windows 2000 what is wrong?

Search for 2 files. excel.prf and personal.xls

Try renaming them and reloading Excel next time it does it. See if that cures it.

Try installing office 97 sr-1 and than the sr-2 and see if that helps. Also delete the personal.xls file.
