Hi,
I'm looking after an Excel database of client records, and have sorted the database by contact name. Is Excel able to check for duplicate names that follow on from each (since the database has been sorted by contact names, duplicates would be listed together), or do I need to go through the entire list and check manually?
Many thanks,
Sam

if your names start in A2 then

=if(A2=A1,"Duplicate","")

and copy down

We could learn a lot from crayons. Some are sharp, some are pretty and some are dull. Some have weird names and all are different colours but they all live in the same box.
