Hi

I have installed office 2000 with SR1 on win98 system. It has been working fine. But now when I open a workbook(100kb size) and just try to exit either by clicking on the Cross or through file menu exit, I see the mousepointer changing to Hourglass and just stays that way and everything freezes. I cannot start any program. If I try Ctrl-Alt-Del I get the message "You are running dangerously low in resources....". There are not any obvious programs running except Norton Anti virus and DirectCD. The computer (PII) has 10GB extra on the hard disk and 128MB Ram. Tried to install latest SP3 of office2K but no change.

What's going on? Should I uninstall O2K and reinstall?

Thanks

What is the size of your virtual memory? Is Windows managing it or do you have it manually configured?

It is set to windows will manage.

OK, then try an uninstall/re-install of Office 2k and see if that works.

Just tried that, but no improvement. I visited MS site and found O2K Eraser which cleans up the registry also. would this help? Or do you have any other suggestions.

thanks

Only other thing I can think of is running checkdisk, then defragmenting. The best thing to do would be to delete Office, run the checkdisk and de-fraggmenter, then re-install Office.

OK. I will try this and let you know ASAP.

Thanks
