Excel 2000 cells not updating 1

Hello,

I am having a problem in Excel 2000. Basically cells with formulas do not update with a change in numbers. I am going to try and be clear on what I mean, if it isn't clear please ask questions.

Ok. I put the number "10" in cell A1

Then I put the number "20" in cell B1

In cell C1 I type the formula =A1+B1 (This gives me 30)

When I change the value of A1 to "15" my total in C1 does not change with it (so the value of C1 is still 30 even though it should be 35).

Any help with this issue would be greatly appreciated.

Don't have XL2000, but I would expect you've got calculation set to Manual (Tools, Options, Calculation). If it calculates when you press F9, then that's certainly the problem.

I feel dumb... thanks for the help... I would have pulled all my hair out if it had not been for you (I knew it was a stupid little option somewhere).
