I just got a new lap top at work and it is equiped with XP and Excel 2002.

If I reference any active pivot tables in a formula, the formula bar shows "=GETPIVOTDATA("Name",$A$3)".

In Excel 2000, the formula bar would simply show "=B11".

Any idea how to switch the view in 2002 to show a simple cell reference? Is it even possible?

Thanks,

View>Toolbars>Pivottable

Click on the "Add or Remove buttons"

Select "Generate "Get PivotData"

Clicking this will now toggle between using "Get PivotData" and a normal cell reference in a formula
