I am having major issues with individuals inside my company trying to send to individuals outside of the company. It doesn't happen with every e-mail that is sent. I am not very familiar with Exchange at all so I have no clue what to look for. I was reading through some other posts that were along the same lines as this but I couldn't put them to work for me since they were above my knowledge. I did go to and ran the utility on the site, everything came back with PASS or INFO except for the following:
- Under the NS heading I got a WARN message stating that Nameservers on separate class C's
- Under the SOA heading I got a a WARN message about my SOA REFRESH value stating that it is set too high (currently at 10800 seconds)
- Under the Mail heading I got a FAIL message about Connect to mail servers - ERROR: I could not connect to one or more of yoru mailservers: mail1.xxx.com: Timed out [Last data sent: [Did not connect]]
- Under the Mail heading I got a WARN message about Mail server host name in greeting

I also verified that my domain is not on any blacklists.
All mail is routed directly through Exchange and not through an ISP. Anything else I am forgetting to include?? Thanks.

I actually figured it out...My antivirus was trying to scan all of the messages and in doing so made them time out...It works again.
