take battery out and start system without it. Check web site for jumper to reset bios. Is this a laptop? Let everything that have breath praise the Lord.
I'm not at work today so I can't check for sure. Our school district uses all Compaqs. I haven't had to reset the bios password yet in the Evo's but in all the other Compaqs, I've had to either remove the jumper for the bios for 10 seconds or so and then replace it. Have you tried pressing the CMOS button on the board? Not sure that will reset the password but if the other doesn't work, try that.
