I installed MS Office 2000 professional on Winwows XP Professional but every time I run an office app (excel, word etc) I get the license agreement window then I have to click accept.

I have office 2k installed on other win98 boxes and they don't prompt to accept the license agreement.

Any body knows why it is happening on XP machines only?

What should I do?

Does Office 2000 needs to be activated at Microsoft when it is installed on WinXP?

Thanks for helping,

Aldi

If memory serves me correctly...I got around this by enabling some policies in the group policy (start|run gpedit.msc). I think they were the following:
LocalComputerPolicy->Computer Configuration->Admin Template->Windows Components->Windows Installer:Enable User ... (There are 4 of them in Win2K) After enabling these policies, put the install CD in the drive and start one of the Office programs. When it asks for the CD to verify the install, browse to the CD and the Installer program will find the file and that will be that. There may be an easier way to do this, but this worked for me.

I have had this problem before and found that the resolution involves simply accepting the licence agreement when logged in as the administrator. It should then stop reappearing for each user.

Hope this helps.

What mrsnrub says makes perfect sense. I don't remember running any of the office apps when logged as the administrator. I'll give it a try and if it doesn't work then i'll go the long route as suggested by JettaWarrior.

Thanks to both of you!!!
