Whenever I disable a user account in Active Directory, I get the following event in the Exchange 2000 server's event logs.
Source: MSExchangeIS
Category: General
Event ID: 9548
"Disabled user /o=Company/ou=COMPANY/cn=Recipients/cn=someuser does not have a master account SID. Please use Active
Directory MMC to set an active account as this user's master account."
Once this happens, you can not log into this persons mailbox, even if you re-enable the account. What I wanted to do was disable the account, and then exmerge the mailbox to a .pst file, but I have to do it in reverse order (exmerge and then disable). I found a Q article expaining how to fix this --> [LN];278966 , but I'd like to know if there is a way around this so that it doesn't happen anymore?
Thanks,
Chris
