This week contained update Tuesday. I permitted the updates this morning & got the obligatory re-boot notification.
On re-boot my screen res was set to 640x480. I logged in as admin and took a look at the event log and device manager.
Nothing in the event log, but the nvidia screen driver was reported as failing to start by device manager. I decided to re-boot and strangely everything seemed back to normal. This time screen res was as per usual and no issues reported.
I took a closer look at the event log.
Around the time of the first re-boot (the one where the screen driver failed to start) there are a whole bunch of Event ID 51 errors that look like this
I took at look here but can't decode the message I got.
Question is, do I worry about this or not? Is this an early warning of HDD failure? I think I shall run Spinrite overnight tonight.
