Event ID 2000, 2003 errors

Our application event viewer log for our Exchange 5.5 server is filling up with the following messages. We get one of these event messages every minute or so. NT 4.0 OS

Source MSExchangeIMC
Category SMTP Interface Events

Message...A new TCP/IP SMTP connection has been received from host mx112.rewarddy4.biz. Logifle:<none>

Event ID: 2003
Source MSEchangeIMC
Category: SMTP INterface Event

Message...A new TCP/IP SMTP connection has been made to host 64.157.4.78 (for yahoo.com). Logifle: <none>
 
What does your Route.txt say? The Route.txt contains current routes IMC uses to determine delivery destinations for connected sites.It's a text representation of routes that Internet Mail Connector is responsible for. I think there is a registry value you can change the interval with...can't remember right off hand which one, sorry.
 
Event ID 2000 is the connection made by and external mail server for an incoming email (event ID 2002).

Event ID 2003 is the connection made to an external server for an outgoing email (event ID 2001).
