Everything seemed to go well when using the registry to increase the maximum information store size from 17GB to 30GB. Checking the Event Viewer Application Log revealed a "red x" for event ID 112. The message is:

Event Type: Error
Event Source: EXOLEDB
Event Category: Events
Event ID: 112
Date: 7/5/2006
Time: 2:06:03 PM
User: N/A
Computer: FS-UCMAIL
Description:
Microsoft Exchange OLEDB was unable to register OnSyncSave event for Schema propagation on MDB startup HRESULT = 0x8000ffff.

Explanation:

The system failed to register event binding on the schema folder. Extensible Markup Language (XML) updates to this folder will not be processed as schema elements.

Has anyone else encountered this problem? What are the ramifications of this?

Thanks in advance for your help.

Tom

This is a long-shot - but check to see if you have a duplicate Schema-root folder. Those 112 errors could be cause by that.

Did you install SP2 recently?

JB

Yes I did install SP2 recently, but did not get this error message at that time. In ESM, under \Public Folder Store\Server there is:

Logons
Public Folder Instances
Public Folders
Replication Status
Full-text Indexing

There is one Schema-root folder in Public Folder Instances and also in Public Folders. Is this how it should be?

Thanks, Tom

Have you compared the two Schema-Root folders?

I'm familiar with problems where there have been duplicate Schema-Root folders in the same folder - but I'm not sure about having multiples in separate directories.

Does anyone else have any input on this one? I'm pretty close to the end of my rope as far as how things should look.
