We have one workstation in our company that is having a problem with DHCP each time it reboots. The error is:
Source: DHCP
Event ID: 1003
Description: Your computer was not able to renew its address from the network (from the DHCP Server) for the Network Card with the network address 000BDB46D033. The following error occurred: The semaphore timeout period has expired. Your computer will continue to try and obtain an address on its own from the network address (DHCP) server.
Most times within a few seconds, it will reconnect to the network on its own and sometime a ipconfig /release and ipconfig /renew gets it back.
I have tried the following things:
-Updated windows critical updates
-Increased the MaxDgramBuffering value from 128 KB to 256 KB. Run Regedt32.exe, go to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\NetBT\Parameters. On the Edit menu, click Add Value, and then add the following information:
Value Name: MaxDgramBuffering
Data Type: REG_DWORD
Value: 0x40000
-Updated Network card Driver
-Updated Bios
-Renamed computer
-Removed and rejoined the computer from the domain
It is updated itself in both DHCP and DNS, but I continue to get this error. I don't want to make it a static address.
Any one have any suggestions?
Thanks - Kristi
